Sherpa in Focus: Laura Vielzeuf – Head of Operations

Where did you grow up?

In a wonderful city located in the middle of nowhere in France called Clermont-Ferrand, it’s home to the Michelin company. Awesome. I consider myself to be more so a product of the Cevennes region which is where my family comes from (a beautiful mountainous area in the south of France)

Why are you at Sherpa?

I wanted to experience the startup scene and test myself in that environment. Which I do, everyday.

Can you play any instruments?

I used to play the trumpet when I was 10. Then I went to a strict music school and lost all passion for it. I got an electric guitar when I was 16, with a dream to learn how to play Johnny B. Goode, I was never successful.

What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?

I try to catch up on iconic/cult tv shows, at the moment I’m on a South Park binge.

Do you have any strange phobias?

I used to be scared of sharks in swimming pools. Yeah.

Choose a movie title for the story of your life.

There Will Be Blood

1 thing on your bucket list?

Iceland or marrying the Scottish guy from the show ‘Outlander’.

If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose?

I wish on a daily basis I could stop time (usually due to lack of sleep), only problem is I would overuse it and would end up looking 100 at 40. So, teleportation.

What makes you feel alive?

Really good music, like
