Breaking: Important Updates to the Sherpa Driver App

You complained, we listened! Check out the new updates we’ve made to the Sherpa Driver app to make your delivery experience easier:

NEW NOTIFICATION SYSTEMIMG_4185

We have now increased the number of radiuses the delivery notifications get sent to in order to favour Sherpas who are in closest proximity to the delivery. The notifications are now sent as follows:

  • Straight away if you are within a 1Km radius of the pick up address
  • After 1 minute if you are within a 2Km radius of the pick up address
  • After 2 minute if you are within a 4Km radius of the pick up address
  • After 3 minute if you are within an 8Km radius of the pick up address
  • After 4 minutes if you are within a 20Km radius of the pick up address

We’re hoping this will reduce the amount of times a delivery notification pops up and is gone by the time you click on it.

ACCEPTING MORE THAN 3 JOBS IS NOW POSSIBLE

Sherpas can now potentially accept more than 3 deliveries at a time depending on what type of deliveries they are.

Different weights are associated to the types of deliveries. A driver cannot take on a weight more than 10.IMG_4186

Restrictions are as follows:

  • 2 Hours job weight 3: if a driver accepts 3, the weight is 9  (3×3 = 9 so maximum of 3 deliveries)
  • 4 hours job weight 2: if a driver accepts 5, the weight is 10  (5×2 = 10 so maximum of 5 deliveries)
  • SDD job weight 1.5: if a driver accepts 6, the weight is 9  (6×1.5 = 9 so maximum of 6 deliveries)
Examples:
  • A two-hour delivery (weight of 3) + 2 four-hour deliveries (weight of 4) + 2 same -day deliveries (weight of 3) = 10
  • 2 two hour deliveries (weight of 6) + 2 four-hour deliveries (weight of 4) = 10
  • 2 four-hour deliveries (weight of 4) + 4 same-day deliveries (weight of 6) = 10

In a nutshell, no need to do the math all the time, just know you can potentially accept more deliveries now.
